When the legendary voice of the Sixers, Marc Zumoff, retired earlier this offseason, many Sixers fans wondered who would take over. Now we have our answer:
Kate Scott is the new voice of the Sixers on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Kate becomes the first female broadcaster to cover a major sport in Philadelphia, and fans have a lot to be excited for. Here’s some more info on Kate:
- She was the first woman to call an NFL game on the radio
- She was the first to call football for the Pac-12 Networks
- She was the play-by-play announcer for the first-ever all-female NHL broadcast in the United States
- Kate hails from the Bay Area in Cali and was the host of 95.7 “The Game” in San Fran
- Kate has NBA play-by-play experience, calling a Warriors game with Kerith Burke and Mary Murphy last season
