Last night the Vegas Golden Knights captured their first Stanley Cup in only their 6th year of existence. They took down the Florida Panthers 9-3 to win the series 4-1.
Immediately after the game we were reminded just how dedicated these players are to trying to win the Stanley Cup by Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice.
I mean holy shit, this is absolutely insane. Tkachuck took a huge hit in game 3 came back and played, scored the game tying goal and then went on to play in game 4.
This guy couldn’t even get himself dressed for the game 4. Here’s the hit where the injury most likely occurred.
Every year we get stories like this about guys playing injured and it never ceases to amaze me. These guys give it their all for the greatest trophy in all of sports. This was just the start of the list of injuries that already started to come out.
Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad has been playing with a broken foot for 3 rounds. Like some of these injuries are things that typically cost guys months of the season and some of them barely missed a period.
These guys are insane and every year we are reminded of that.
