We have an Italian Stallion in #6 Marvin Vettori (-335) taking on a replacement due to Darren Till’s unfortunate broken collarbone #10 Kevin Holland coming in as a huge dog in this one at +260. Man oh man, im really scared to take Holland in this one. Vettori is an extremely dangerous opponent whose won 4 straight and his last loss was a split decision to the champ Adesanya.
I do want to be on record, I would’ve taken Darren Till this weekend. I thought he’d finish Vettori somewhat early en route to a potential title shot. Sadly, thats not happening.
So what do I think happens today? If I have to pick, Im taking KEVIN HOLLAND BY TKO. He’s an underdog, there are a lot of people writing him off, but the guy has skills. I think sometimes he’s just there for a good time and doesn’t really care what happens. But that last one got under his skin, so I could see him coming out and taking the entire fight seriously, no trash talking and none of that shit. A changed and more serious Kevin Holland even from a few weeks ago could be a very dangerous opponent in the octagon. Vettori is an emotional fighter, so I could see Kevin having success with that, and getting him to leap forward. But I also think Vettori has learned if he pushes forward, gets takedowns, he’s going to reap the benefits of it, much like Brunson did a few weeks ago.
Another fight to look out for is the co main event where we’ll have an elite high level matchup of ranked Featherweights as #10 Arnold Allen (+125) vs #11 Sodiq Yusuff (-152). Im taking Yusuff in this one, but its a real close one to call. Both of these fighters are on some long win streaks. Allen has won 9 straight while Yusuff is a winner of 6 in a row. One of them will extend their streak here today and will have a top 10 opponent when all is said and done. I see Yuseff taking this via Split Decision and taking home the 50 G’s for Fight of the Night.
Other names on the card to look out include Miley Cyrus’ Valentine Julien Marquez taking on Sam Alvey in a big Light Heavyweight matchup. I love #11 Mackenzie Dern as a +115 underdog against #5 Nina Nunes and How bout a Mike Perry sighting to open the main card?? Expect some fireworks in the that welterweight matchup as he takes on Daniel Rodriguez.
Overall, the Till injury hurts. Especially with my fellow Liverpool people. But, this is a great high level card with some fun matchups with some major bouts in the main and co main spots.
