Another great soul was taken from this world last night as legendary Georgetown Hoyas coach John Thompson Jr. has passed away at the age of 78.

Here is a a list of John Thompson accolades:

–  First African-American head coach to win a major collegiate championship

– 2× NBA champion with the Celtics (’65, ’66)

– NCAA champion (’84)

– NABC Coach of the Year (’85)

Olympics (’88)

– 3× Big East COTY (’80, ’87, ’92)

And in my honest opinion, the best part is he had a 97% Graduation Rate for his players at Georgetown in 27 years, thats amazing.

Just all around greatness from top to bottom here from the coach.
