UFC 249:We Are Back

TONIGHT in Jacksonville, Florida, USA the first sport in the states is back and well of course its the UFC. We have card of all cards, two title fights, legacy defining fights, and just straight up brawls happening starting at 6:30. I wish I could show how thankful and proud I am to be such a fanatic of this sport and fighters. These fellas aint scared of shit especially a goddam virus. Well, shall we? Let get into the fights, starting with the main event…

Tony Ferguson (-170) vs Justin Gaethje (+160) for the UFC Interim Lightweight Championship

This is without a doubt the biggest fight on the card. Although I wish this were Tony vs Khabib, i will certainly take this war between 2 of the baddest mfers on the planet. In a sport where chaos happens every fight and is known for its chaos, Justin Gaethje and Tony Ferguson are easily in the top 5 of the most chaotic fighters on the planet.

This is going to be insane. Ferguson and Gaethje, I don’t think you can get more exciting than these 2 warriors. I believe Tony takes it by 4 or 5th round TKO, I can’t see this fight ending in a decision. Gaethje does have the ability to finish the fight. But I think Ferguson has a never-quit attitude, and he’s a little more technical when it comes to other situations than just the brawling style that Gaethje is known for. Ferguson can brawl, but he also is a great high-level jiu-jitsu artist. He’s got great scrambling ability that might throw Justin off his game a little. This is nearly impossible to predict but I have a hard time picking against Tony Ferguson.

Henry Cejudo (c) (-210) vs Dominick Cruz (+190) for the UFC Bantamweight Championship

This will be an awesome moment seeing these two go at it. One of it not the most decorated combat sports athlete in history fighting arguably the GOAT Bantamweight in MMA who hasn’t fought since December 2016. Yes that’s right, 3.5 years ago was the last time Dominik fought, unfortunately due to a couple ACL tears, a shoulder tear, and more he hasn’t been able to get in the octagon.

There are some major historical implications on this fight, whoever pulls it out will be making some crazy history. If Cejudo wins … he will join Daniel Cormier (heavyweight, light heavyweight) as the only fighters in UFC history to successfully defend titles in multiple weight class. If Cruz wins … he will join Randy Couture (heavyweight) as the only fighters in UFC history to win a belt three times in the same weight class. In terms of the fight itself, I have a hard time picking against one of the most decorated combat sports athletes ever against someone that hasn’t stepped inside in the octagon in 3.5 years. If anyone can pull that off though, its Dominik Cruz, a legend in his own right. Cruz’ length, unorthodox style, cardio, fight IQ, etc. are all cause for concern for Cejudo. But like I said, I have a hard time picking against him. I think its super close, Cejudo retains via Split Decision.

Francis Ngannou (-260) vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik (+230)-Heavyweight Division

Alright we got some BIG heavys coming in at heavyweight that will have title implications. I would bet on Francis Ngannou, but you really never know especially the way Rozenstruik is skyrocketing up the ranking and taking peoples heads off. Expect this one to be straight fireworks, i’d be shocked if this lasted more than 1.5 rounds. Someone is getting knocked the F out!

More on the card include top Featherweight contenders between #7 Jeremy Stephens (+215) and #9 Calvin Kattar. (-230) This is a banger of a fight. Im a little bias because Kattar is a Massachsuetts native, so i dont want to pick against him. It’s going to be close and I can see this going to a decision possibly. To open the main card, we got scumbag Greg Hardy vs Yorgan De Castro in a Heavyweight fight, im not sure how i feel about this one, but i’m always down to see some heavyweight action. We also have some absolute BANGERS on the prelims topping it off with Donald Cowboy Cerrone vs Anthony Pettis in an importanrt Welterweight fight between 2 absolute savages man.

Good lawd almighty, imma have a heart attack tonight. WHAT. A. CARD. Buckle up folks, strap in, this is going to be one helluva ride.

P.S.

Big thank you to Dana White and the UFC for having the balls to put this on. They are getting a shit ton of criticism for it, including from a lot of the MMA media. What a joke man, so sad to see. These fighters WANT to fight, its what they love to do and if they are going to risk their lives fighting in a cage for a living, who the hell is to tell them they cant fight? Anyways, tune in, buy the card, and support the BIGGEST MOST SAVAGE WARRIORS ON EARTH. LFG!

Mac out.
