The state of Washington mandated that all state employees need to be vaccinated, this includes anyone who works for a state institution. John Canzano first reported Nick Rolovich, head football coach of Washington State has been terminated after he refused to get vaccinated. State employees were told they needed to either be vaccinated by Monday, October 18th or receive an exemption. Rolovich requested a “religious exemption” but was denied.

His contract specifically covers termination based on not following University policy, which this would be under. In addition, four other assistant coaches have been fired, and defensive coordinator Jake Dickert is now the Interim head coach. Rolovich was in his second year with Washington State. The Cougars are currently 4-3 on the year.
