Early Signing Period

Today is the start of early signing period for top high school football prospects. They’ll sign their national letters of intent starting today and ending Friday. Yes, an 18 year old can sign their life away to a multi-million dollar football program and not see a dime during their 3-4 years of play.

Hell even little 2 star Timmy can sign his letter of intent to “Who gives a shit” state university that’ll never get air time on national television. Don’t worry the high school will gather the entire student body in the gym and celebrate his signing. More than likely he’ll quit after his second year and work at the local Wal-Mart reliving his glory days on the gridiron to anyone who wants to listen.

Signing days are getting out of hand. ESPN has a set schedule and broadcasts players decisions on national TV. It’s the same thing every time, they thank God, parents, coaches..etc. Then it’s time to put on the hat (that never fits) of the school they decide. And it never fails, they pick up one hat, everyone goes nuts. Then….SYKE…throws that hat away and puts on his true pick.

I love the odd stories that come out every year from college signings.

Throw back to this great story of a kid who made it ALL up.

Or the disappointed Mom who’s kid picked the wrong program because the other was offering more money, or a bigger house.

Seriously? Why are you mad? You don’t have to pay for college.
