Is it the year of the Leprechaun?

Last week ESPN announced that College Game Day will be in South Bend week one for Notre Dame vs Michigan.

I can’t wait to be there!! Notre Dame also announced that it will be a “GREEN OUT” at the stadium for that game. Because…

IRISH WEAR GREEN!

Then the first Coaches Poll for week 1 of the college football season came out.  The Irish are sitting right outside the top 10 at number 11.  In perfect striking distance for the college playoff.  Speaking of the college playoff…

According to ESPN FPI the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a 42% chance to make the college football playoff.  That is 4th best in the country behind only Clemson, Alabama and Georgia.

USA Today “Notre Dame’s presence in the top four in part because of returning core players who led to its top-12 offensive efficiency and its top-10 defensive efficiency last season. The Fighting Irish could also have a slight advantage because they don’t compete for a conference title.”

So without even talking about X’s and O’s or the Jimmie’s and the Joe’s… Something seems to be happening for the Irish.  Maybe somebody found a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow in South Bend.  Maybe its a lot of that luck of the Irish.  Or like it is China 2018 is the year of the Dog… Maybe in America it’s the year of the Leprechaun.

Whatever it is… I don’t care.  Looking at my ND banner while I am writing this the last championship year reads, 1988.  I think the Irish are due.  So Play like a Champion today, and everyday this season boys and maybe just maybe we will all be doing the Irish step dance come January!
