Here at Branded Sports we love (almost) everyone. But we absolutely love the LGBTQ 🏳️🌈 Community. They… Know how to party! That’s why this week The Branded Hour, Happy Hour Review is heading down to one of the biggest gay bars in Ft. Lauderdale!
If you don’t remember from my intro article… My dad is gay. Add my wife’s gay uncle (Guncle) and we have been to a ton of gay bars and a ton of gay bar Happy Hours!
If you are a straight guy and you are getting a little nervous and thinking why would I go to a gay bar? First, check your “manly ego” at the door. Second, just give a it a chance and listen up.
If you think you’re going to get “constantly hit on” get over yourself. (And you’ll also think “what hell is wrong with me?”) if you don’t get hit on. Facts. Second, if you are being “admired” you can finally understand what a girl goes through at a “regular bar” just relax.
Also bring your wife or girlfriend. She will never have gotten so many nice compliments in her life. Trust me, it will be great. Unlike most straight guys… Gay guys know how to talk to girls.
Now Scandals… We went with my father and friends a few months ago. The place had been a staple in the area for years. The owners closed it down but luckily it was recently renovated and reopened!
Scandals is a gay country western bar! They always have something going on, from poker not to line dancing. Always rocking the DJ and even do karaoke! It’s the perfect place for you to get up and sing Whitney Houston like you have always wanted to!
Scandals does not have food, but that’s fine more room for booze! Regular Happy Hours are usually 4-6ish. Not in the gay bar world and not at Scandals. They are usually limited to Monday-Friday… HA! Not here.. They party all week and weekend like long!
Yeah, you know you want a Beer Blast!
GRADES: (All out of 30)
Alcohol: The drinks are off the hook. Strong, strong, strong! Worth every penny… And that’s not a lot of pennies because check those prices.. $3 well and domestic beers or $4 Absolute/Stoli is Bacardi… I’m in. Drinks are awesome and def get the job done! SCORE: 9
Times: Ok, like I said a normal Happy Hour is two hours a day, five days a week. Quadruple that at Scandals. They have Happy Hour Specials every freakin day! Including OPEN to CLOSE on Sunday!! SCORE: 9.9
Atmosphere: Outside/inside. Which like I said last week, an outdoor Happy Hour is the best! Especially because you are in Florida!! Yes, remember it’s a gay bar so will he full of gay guys but they don’t bite I promise… Have a great time! SCORE: 8.9
Bonus: Gay bars, including Scandals have what’s called “Sunday Tea” just another excuse to party and on it’s on Sunday. You know I say.. Don’t let Monday ruin your Sunday, so it’s perfect. Famous Sunday Tea on the back porch 4-midnight. DJ & Beer Blasts. Boom! You can also play some poker or pool!
Parking is valet during high traffic times. (Please tip those dudes they are working hard.) Uber/Lyft also fully available in the area… Don’t be stupid!
Overall Score: 27.8 out of 30. HUGE score!
Like I said earlier.. This place knows how to party! Join BarstoolPAT and go have a great time and a ton of drinks at a gay bar, especially Scandals!
