The Sixers opened up the season in exciting fashion last night, defeating the Pelicans 117-97 in a true team effort. With guys like Maxey and Korkmaz stepping up, many fans are wondering what the ceiling for this team could be in a highly competitive Eastern Conference.
But last night’s win was only a temporary reprieve from the nonstop drama that we have all gotten used to with Ben Simmons. And now? Some of his fellow Aussies are sharing their experience, and disappointment, in Ben and the entire situation.
Andrew Bogut, the former first-overall pick who also leads a very good Australian National Team, was one of the players that spoke out on the situation. Bogut played with Ben in a few FIBA tourney’s and had this to say (via News.com.AU):
“Unfortunately, he has form doing these kinds of things; we experienced it with the national team,” Bogut said.
“There’s not going to be too much sympathy for him, but hopefully they can sort it out and both parties can have something positive to come out of it.”
Not a great look for Ben here as Bogut is someone that has tons of respect from just about every single person, league, and organization in global basketball.
Like Bogut said, hopefully things get sorted out soon and we can shift our focus to being just on the talented roster we have this year. Catch ALL of this year’s NBA action on fuboTV. Sign up for a free trial by clicking here or above!
