Ex- Washington State Head Football Coach, Nick Rolovich, is Suing for Wrongful Termination

Nick Rolovich was terminated on Monday because he did not comply with the vaccinated mandate for all state employees of Washington. All employees in the state of Washington needed to either be vaccinated or receive an exemption by October 18th, or they would be terminated. Nick Rolovich applied for an exemption under “religious principles” but was denied.

Rolovich’s attorney announced on Wednesday that they will be suing the University for illegal termination under the circumstances of “discriminatory and vindictive behavior” by the athletic director Pat Chun.

Brian Fahling, Rolovich’s attorney, is arguing that Rolovich’s religious exemption from getting the vaccine should have been accepted by the University. Fahling also insinuates that Chun and Washington State terminated Rolovich because he is a devout catholic.

“It is a tragic and damning commentary on our culture, and more specifically, on Chun, that Coach Rolovich has been derided, demonized, and ultimately fired from his job, merely for being devout in his Catholic faith,” Fahling stated on Wednesday.

Chun has not responded to allegations but did state the position they were in with Coach Rolovich on Monday. “We’ve had conversations that date back months,” Chun said. “He was resolute in his stance and his right to make a choice. That choice did not put him in compliance with this proclamation from the governor, and that is why we sit here today.”
