The morning of last seasons Game 7 meltdown is as good a place to start as any: pic.twitter.com/H7Bu58KCjq

I’m starting to notice a pattern here. Every single day since that fateful night at a raucous Wells Fargo Center against a much-lesser Atlanta Hawks team, Sixers (and NBA) fans are being lobbied by the big wigs over in Bristol to move to the dark side. The Dark Side being mainstream media and its constituents creating (and furthering) a narrative. This narrative is that 1) Ben Simmons is the softest player of all-time 2) Ben Simmons “threw” the series against the Hawks.
Color me crazy, but the “slow leaks” of all the Ben Simmons news are being done strategically. Ben returns to Philly unannounced? The story comes out about Doc Rivers throwing F-bombs at Simmons in a private meeting. Since then, it’s been Ben’s unwillingness to assimilate back into the Sixers locker room. And now? Ramona Shelburne is trying to tell me that Ben Simmons supposedly wanted to test positive for COVID (or at least have to go through the COVID evaluation process) in order to miss Game 7.
We will never know whether this claim is true or not, but I can tell you this:
1) I cannot wait for this freaking saga to come to a conclusion
2) The fact we can all look at this story and shake our heads and go “Yeah, you know what I can see him doing that” is indicative of the type of player we are dealing with.
Opening night is days away. Can’t wait!
