Preview of Appalachian State vs Louisiana Lafayette

If you are a football fan you need to tune into Tuesday Night “Funbelt” action. This is a great matchup between two solid group of 5 programs. Both teams bring good quarterbacks in Chase Brice (App State) and Levi Lewis (ULL) to the table. Brice currently has over 1,300 yards for the season with 8 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Lewis has thrown for almost 1,100 yards 7 touchdowns and 1 interception. Although the quarterbacks are great both defenses have been outstanding so far this season. Five games in and both units are giving up less than 23 points a game. The Mountaineers and Ragin Cajuns have their eyes set on the Sunbelt crown. Undefeated in league play, both having a single loss in out of conference play to major power 5 programs in Texas and Miami. The winner gets a big boost out of the gate for the Sunbelt championship

Verdict: (App State -5) The Mountaineers are 5 point road favorites, and I believe they take care of business. Levi Lewis is great, but the Mountaineer defense is slightly better than the Cajuns. App State is going to play bend don’t break defense, and they have enough firepower to defeat ULL on their own field.
