Roster Move: Eagles have placed TE Dallas Goedert on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. pic.twitter.com/xVJudGmY9P

The feeling of Victory Monday yesterday was one that Eagles fans have been waiting for since the Week 1 smackdown vs the Falcons. But, this past Sunday’s victory against Sam Darnold and co. in Carolina is shorter-lived than most given that the Eagles take on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs on Thursday Night Football.
There is a lot to be excited for about the Eagles-Bucs matchup on Thursday, but bad news came in the form of star TE Dallas Goedert being added to the Reserve/COVID list this morning. Goedert is a legitimate playmaker and a huge piece of this offense, so his absence will be significant for a team that needs as much talent on the field as possible.
#Eagles TE Dallas Goedert, who is vaccinated, will need two negative tests before Thursday night to play vs. the #Buccaneers. Would seem unlikely. We’ll see.

There is a slight chance that Goedert can get two negative tests and end up playing Thursday, but history shows that players placed on the IR before Thursday games tend to not suit up.
On the flip side? Maybe Ertz has a solid game and builds up some trade value. He has been okay this season but it is clear he has lost a step and he should not be the top receiving TE in this offense.
