First and foremost, we want to wish Carey Price all the best and hopefully whatever he is going through he is able to get past. Major props to him for realizing he needed help and taking the steps he needed to in order to get that help.
It’s a tough blow to the Canadiens as even though he was likely going to miss the start of the season due to recovering from an injury he still is a major part of their team.
It will now be up to Jake Allen to carry the load until Price is ready to come back. I also expect to see a decent amount of starts from Cayden Primeau. We will have to wait and see how the early season plays out for the Montreal Canadiens.
It’s great that the NHL and NHLPA has these type of resources for players to take advantage of and while obviously we hope they never have to be used, the fact that players have been comfortable using them is a great sign. We saw it with Bobby Ryan and it was great to see him be able to recover like he has. Hopefully the same results happen for Carey Price as he enters the program.
