Flyers training camp opens up this Thursday and players have already reported and have been working out. We also had the rookies being showcased with two games this past weekend against the New York Rangers. While the best time of year is just a few short weeks away at this point, the Flyers are already dealing with some adversity.
Over the weekend there was a tweet that caused some panic around the Flyers community.
Thankfully, it doesn’t appear that what Anthony was hearing was completely true…
Also lets not fault Anthony here, the guy is usually a very reliable source when it comes to the Flyers and him and Russ Joy do some great work for Snow The Goalie. The important thing here is that Sam Morin is hopefully not going to be missing too much time. As you saw from the first tweet included here, Morin is dealing with a knee injury that is going to force him to miss the start of training camp but thankfully it isn’t too serious.
The other injury news that came out of this weekend was the injury to forward Wade Allison.
This didn’t look all that great and I feel like the fact that we are still waiting on a full update may not be a good sign. Wade was hopefully going to be a big part of the Flyers team this upcoming season and hopefully this injury isn’t something that keeps him out long term.
It was only two games but there were a lot of positives to take away from Wade Allisons performance this weekend. He provided a spark and great energy during the two games and that was a great sign going into training camp. Let’s hope we hear something positive over the next few days and that Wade will be good to go for training camp.
