It’s Labor Day weekend you know what that means.First it means there are no Sunday scaries because we’re pretty much all off from work. Secondly, it means that it is officially All Elite Wrestling All Out weekend and that’s why you are here reading this.
This Sunday we have one of the most anticipated wrestling events of the year with a stacked card from AEW. All Out is going to be insane and I think I speak for everyone when I say we have something that all of us have been waiting for over seven years for…
That’s right we have the in ring return of the Best in The World, CM Punk!
If you don’t think every wrestling fan and their mother is going to be tuned in for this, you are out of your damn mind. We all saw how huge of a pop he got when he officially came back on AEW Rampage a few weeks ago. Just Imagine how loud it is going to be in Chicago when his music hits for his first match in seven years. The roof may blow off the place once he inevitably yells out. “IT”S CLOBBERIN TIME!!!”
While I think it’s pretty obvious Punk’s return is going to be the biggest moment of the night, there are still so many other great things taking place on this card. So let’s take a look at what’s going down this Sunday night in Chicago!
The Buy in:
Battle Royal With Winner Receiving A Shot At The AEW Women’s World Championship

A staple of all AEW PPVs at this point, the typical battle royal to determine a title contender down the line this time for the AEW Women’s Championship. These battle royals are usually always entertaining and give us a few surprises as well. We could see some debuts of new AEW signings here so don’t be shocked if that happens. This will be a great lead in to what should be an incredible night of action.
Main Card:
CM Punk vs Darby Allin

The moment that every wrestling fan around the world including myself has been waiting seven years for. The in ring return of the Best in The World, CM Punk. It has been far too long since we have seen him inside the ring and I don’t think I have ever looked forward to a match as much as I am with this one. Yes, obviously the biggest thing is the return of Punk but him going up against Darby Allin is going to be can’t miss. Darby has been one of the best competitors to watch in AEW and is probably the most entertaining guys on the roster. We saw Punk put on a little action on Wednesday night including hitting his famous GTS. I don’t expect much ring rust from the guy as he is one of the best in the world and should have no problem stepping back in and putting on a great match. There is zero chance Punk loses this match but that doesn’t matter because it is going to be such a treat seeing him back in the ring. He may even get a bigger pop than when he got when he first returned on Rampage.
MJF vs Chris Jericho

A match we have seen already a few times but this one is for all the marbles. Chris Jericho puts his career on the line as he says if he can’t beat MJF then maybe he shouldn’t be doing this anymore. MJF is 4-0 agasint Jericho and is looking to end him once and for all. The rivalry between these two has been outstanding and the matches have delivered every time. Sunday night should be no different as these two go to war one more time. Just about everything in me thinks Jericho wins this match but there is a very small part of me that thinks maybe he doesn’t and that it could be the end of Jericho’s in ring career. I hope that’s not the case but you can never say never.
AEW World Championship: Kenny Omega(c) vs Christian Cage

Kenny Omega and Christian Cage do battle once again, this time for the AEW World Championship. This match comes just a few short weeks after Cage pinned Omega and captured the Impact World Title from him. Can Christian do the unthinkable and beat Omega for a second straight time? The answer to that is going to be no, Christian already got his win over Omega and this time it will be Kenny who will be standing tall at the end of this one. Their first match was fantastic and I expect this to be just as good if not better. You can expect some outside interference in some capacity whether it’s the Good Brothers getting involved or Don Callis. I for one am a little more interested to see if we have anything happen after the match.
AEW Women’s Championship: Britt Baker(c) vs Kris Statlander

Britt Baker has been one of the major highlights on AEW TV recently. Her Championship run has been fantastic and her in ring ability has really been getting shown off. Kris Statlander recently returned and finds herself in for a tough match against Baker. This one is going to be great as both these women can really go in the ring and the feud has had a great build. Britt Baker should retain her title her as I think she could be in store for a long title run.
TNT Championship: Miro(c) vs Eddie Kingston

Miro has been unstoppable since he arrived in AEW and he now holds the TNT championship. He has destroyed everyone in his path so far and next up is Eddie Kingston. This is going to be a physical matchup as both these guys are hard hitting. Kingston is gonna put up a hell of a fight but in the end it’s going to be Miro coming away with the victory. He has had a great run so far with the TNT title and there is no reason to end that just yet.
Jon Moxley vs Satoshi Kojima

This should be a solid matchup, I’d be lying if I said I really knew all that much about Kojima but It’s a rare occasion if Moxley puts on a bad match. I always love the inclusion of guys from NJPW too as it gives people like myself a better idea of who some of these guys are. I expect Moxley to pick up the win in this one but we’ll see what happens.
Paul Wight vs QT Marshall

I like to be honest when I write blogs so that’s exactly what I am going to do here…It’s 2021 and honestly I couldn’t give two shits about Paul Wight(FKA Big Show) wrestling in a match. I’ve watched Dynamite and Rampage and I still have zero interest in this feud. Hopefully QT Marshall picks up the win because like I said we don’t need anything with Paul Wight winning wrestling matches in 2021.
Make sure to check out all the action this Sunday night starting with the Buy-In at 7pm.
