In a fairly shocking move, the Eagles have announced they have waived/injured RB Kerryon Johnson. Johnson, a former Lions standout, was expected to be a contributor in the offense this year as a pass-catching back and a great pass protector.

Johnson suffered a knee injury last week and has suffered from knee issues throughout his entire career. Without Johnson on the depth chart, the Birds still have Miles Sanders, Boston Scott, Kenneth Gainwell, and Jason Huntley.

Here’s to hoping Johnson gets healthy and finds himself another chance this season, and to hoping the backfield takes some of the pressure off of Hurts.
