Song of the Day:

Yes I’m Changing – Tame Impala

Tame Impala is my favorite artist. I really became a fan during quarantine and he is my go-to working music. Every song has a different sound and the fact that one man is responsible for a catalog of music that is all good and all so diverse is astonishing. This song specifically feels relevant to my life right now so figured it would be a good one to share for those who may have never heard the wonders of Tame Impala. P.s. If you want to come visit your boy in Chicago, we’re going to a Tame concert on 10/7 👀

Positive Quote of the Day:

The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking. – Albert Einstein

5 Year Anniversary of Brexit

Today marks the five-year anniversary of England breaking away from the European Union in what is commonly known as “Brexit.” I was about a month into my first job out of college, and on top of an impending election with major implications stateside, Brexit was a major global event that I still don’t think the world has felt the total impact from and I certainly did not understand at the time.

Britain’s decision to break away from the European Union has had many downstream effects, mostly putting the EU (and world) economy into disarray and leaving the rest of the UK wondering what happens next.

Northern Ireland is pushing for independence but borders Ireland, which is in the EU. Scotland is pushing for independence but Scottish citizens voted down independence in 2014. On top of that, the European Union itself is trying to figure out how to stay afloat amidst one of it’s major members dropping out.

I write about Brexit to bring awareness to a major global event that we still have not seen the end result of. The future of England and the European Union as a whole greatly effects the US and our economy, so now is the time to start paying attention to what’s happening with our friends across the pond.
