Song of the Day:

Bleach – Brockhampton

Brockhampton is one of the best music collectives out there but not nearly enough people know about them. With the perfect mix of sounds and lyricism, they continue to be a voice for those that previously had not had one in Rap. Their Founder, Kevin Abstract, is a true trail blazer and extremely talented. Give them a listen with their smash hit “Bleach” and listen to more of their work on their page.

Positive Quote of the Day:

“I learned a long time ago that what makes a man different is what makes a man great.” – Las Vegas Raiders Head Coach Jon Gruden on Carl Nassib’s announcement

What Makes Today Special?

On June 22nd, 1772, slavery was outlawed in England in the landmark Somerset v. Stewart case. Read more about this and the precedent it helped set for other countries below:

Carl Nassib Changed the Game

Yesterday was a momentous day for professional sports and the queer community. Las Vegas Raiders DE Carl Nassib announced on his Instagram page that he was gay in a short video that you can watch below:

Carl became the first active openly gay player in the four major US professional sports leagues, which will hopefully blaze the path for more athletes to follow Carl’s lead and be able to freely speak on their sexuality.

In addition, he also announced a $100,000 donation to The Trevor Project, which you can read more about and donate to here:

Shout out to Carl Nassib for being a real one. He just changed a lot of peoples lives for the better.
