When I think of Victoria’s Secret, all I think about is VS Angels. When I tell you that it was always my dream to be an angel and get a pair of wings and strut down that run ever since I was in middle school. I would wait all year for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show each year and just be in awe of the detail of the wings and the gorgeous concepts they had around these beautiful models. Reality struck when I was only 5’2″ on a good day and the height requirement was at least 5’8″ barefoot. It has been 4 years since the angels last runway but in their place, VS announced a new campaign.
This new campaign has more high profile women such as soccer star, Megan Rapione; freestyle skier, model and advocate, Eileen Gu; model and advocate Paloma Essler; actress, producer and entrepreneur, Priyanka Chopra Jonas; transgender model, Valentine Sampaio; model, mental wellness supporter and South Sudanese refugee Adut Akech; and photographer, journalist, founder of Girlgaze and advocate, Amanda da Cadenet. This group of women will be known as the VS Collective.

The new faces will work together on what it means to be “sexy” and show that it is okay to have different body types as well becoming a global advocate. They will focus on advising the brand of VS as well as appearing in ads and promote VS on their social media.
I personally will miss the angels and officially have given up on that dream but I am looking for this new opportunity to promote more of what women want through a woman’s eyes.
