What To Expect From UFC Vegas 24: Whittaker vs Gastelum

We have a HUGE middleweight main event on ESPN. This fight was set to headline a PPV 2 years ago at UFC 234 where Gastelum and Whittaker were supposed to fight for the middleweight title. This is a rematch quite literally years in the making. Of course there is no title on the line in this one, but its about as close as it gets. This is essentially a number 1 contender’s bout with the winner likely to fight the champ Israel Adesanya for the belt later this year.

#1 Robert Whittaker (-286) vs #6 Kelvin Gastelum (+225) in what is almost a guaranteed banger of a fight. I can really see this being fight of the night. Both of these gents can take a lot of damage and keep going and I think we might get to see one of the brawl type fights. I see this going the full length 5 rounds in what could be a war.

I just think Whittaker is the hotter fighter, winner of 2 straight while Kelvin has lost 3 of 4, although he did win his last one which was huge but just has not looked great. Gastelum has shown he can compete with the elite guys. He just got into a little funk. The Jack Hermansson thing was a little weird, he got heel hooked. It has to be a mental thing with him. With Whittaker, the fight is going to be mostly standing. How confident is Gastelum going to be standing again with Whittaker? I think Kelvin is so durable. But I do see Bobby Knuckles winning this one via Unanimous Decision.

Wanna see how fucking good these guys are?

I mean its preposterous how good they have been for how long. Both are VERY capable to win this fight and get another title shot against Izzy, make improvements and really challenge him. I just see Whittaker having a better shot.

The co main is a certified banger as well. We have #10 Jeremy Stephens (-125) vs Drakkar Klose (+100) in an extremely high level lightweight bout. I think Stephens gets the finish here, in what should be one hell of a fight. They will meet at the center and throw hands until one of the drops. Be ready.
