Well its officially the NHL Trade deadline day and boy oh boy have we had some moves already. The deals came pouring in here late night Sunday with a flurry of smaller moves and then finally, the big one. The move that we have all been expecting and waiting on finally got done.
That’s right Taylor Hall has officially been traded to the Boston Bruins in what appears to be a massive deal and a possible steal for the Boston Bruins.
The Hall rumors really heated up yesterday and there were three teams who were in on him before the Bruins got the deal done. The Washington Capitals and the New York Islanders were the other two teams in on Hall but it was the Bruins who were able to pull it off. It’s a great deal for them as they are also getting Curtis Lazar and only are giving up Anders Bjork and a 2nd round pick.
Boston is already a dangerous offensive team and now adding the former MVP will only improve their chances at another Stanley Cup run. While Hall hasn’t had the best of season this change of scenery could be exactly what he needs and he’s going to a team with plenty of star power to help get him back to an MVP level. The big question is if this is just a pure rental for the Bruins or if Hall will end up signing an extension. Either way the race for the East just got a whole lot more interesting and the Bruins just became even more of a threat.
