On the latest episode of Inside The Birds with Adam Caplan the Eagles are pursuing Jacoby Brissett. According to Caplin: “[The Eagles] have interest I’m told by multiple sources in Jacoby Brissett,” said Caplan via InsideTheBirds.com. “Not surprising, obviously the connection with the Colts coaches but he doesn’t have an agent. He hasn’t used an agent in years. He actually did his two-year extension and did a pretty good job on it by the way. Now, what I understand is Bill Parcells is his advisor, legendary Hall of Fame coach. I think Monday afternoon they could talk to him because he’s not an agent, technically.”
Personally, I’d like this move for the Birds. Brissett is a solid backup QB and could definitely help Hurts in his development. We’ve seen what he can do as a starter and if Hurts gets injured or starts playing poorly Brissett is a solid option to have to come in and try and win some games. Plus, with the Eagles having like no money he is probably the best option they are going to get as a backup QB.
