He spent the first six years of his career with the Philadelphia Phillies, which included three 20-plus homer campaigns. The 28-year-old slashed .278/.321/.457 with eight round-trippers and 38 RBIs in 60 games for the Royals in 2020.
Well isn’t this just a fart in your cereal. Not saying that because Maikel Franco was a monster last year or before that with the Phillies. He really wasn’t. But there is a zero percent chance that he goes to the Mets and doesn’t kill the Phillies. It’s just the way things go with ex Phillies. He signs with the Mets and next season he’s in the MVP race. 50 home runs and 125 RBIs. Guarantee it. And if not, he’ll at least bat .330 vs the Phillies with bare minimum four walk off hits.
I’m glad the Phillies actually spent some money this offseason but it feels like three steps forward and four steps back. Just make the playoffs please.
