Not even 2 weeks after signing JT Realmuto to a 5 year 115 million dollar deal, Jeff Passan has reported that JT Realmuto has broken his thumb in his throwing hand.
Recovery time looks to be about a month, and will be ready for Opening Day, but he will most likely miss all of Spring Training.
Huge blow for the Phillies, but luckily he’ll be available for the beginning of the season and won’t be out too long.
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto suffered a broken thumb in his throwing hand and is expected to miss up to a month. He should be ready for Opening Day but will be out a number of spring games after signing a free agent deal for five years and $115M.
