After an extremely disappointing loss on Monday night to the Buffalo Sabres, the Flyers bounced back last night and picked up a 3-0 win.
In what was a much better team performance than Monday, Brian Elliott backstopped the Flyers with a 40 save shutout.
Travis Konecny would open the scoring with a beautiful breakaway goal late in the second period. Then later in the third period Kevin Hayes would find a wide open Jake Voracek who would bury a beautiful one timer goal. Hayes would add a long range empty net goal securing the Flyers 3-0 win.
Not everything was great coming out of last nights game. Phil Myers would take a hit early in the second period and would not return for the rest of the game. Later on in the second period Morgan Frost would take a hit behind the Sabres net and also would miss the remainder of the game. Hopefully neither of these injuries are too serious but they are both getting MRIs tomorrow so we should know more.
The Flyers are already without Shayne Ghostisbehere and Sean Couturier. The theme of this season though will be next man up. If Frost and Myers are out long term the Flyers will have to rely on their depth until they are ready to come back.
The Flyers head to Boston on Thursday for the first of two meetings.
