Sometimes we get ourselves some little birdies that chirp in our ear. Check back and look, we knew about the Bryce Harper signing weeks ahead and the Barstool sell to Penn a month before it was announced. We got another bit of insight that told us that DeSean Jackson will be making his retirement announcement very soon.
Originally we were told it would come this Friday and now we are hearing it could be middle of next week due to his vacation with family. Either way, it sounds like DeSean Jackson has played his last NFL game. And if it truly is the end for number 10, how fitting is it that his last catch is an 81 yard bomb vs the Cowboys?
Pretty great career for a guy that is listed 5’10” 175. Finishes 41st all time in receiving yards with 10,656, right ahead of the notorious Eagles killer, Keyshawn Johnson. His best season coming ironically in his last season with Philadelphia, putting up over 1300 yards and 9 touchdowns. The next offseason he was ran out of town on some bullshit stories, thanks again Chip.
But Jackson will always be a Philly fan favorite. The way he played the game, his swagger and style. I mean, fall into the endzone right in the Cowboy’s faces. Like the football version of Iverson’s step over. And of course, you can’t talk about DJax with out the Miracle at the New Meadowlands.
If this really it is, thank you DeSean for the amazing football memories. Only regret is you weren’t on the Super Bowl team.
