Wake Up Philadelphia! Flyers vs Sabres Gameday Preview(Game 3)

The Flyers are off to a hot start after taking care of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first two games of the season. Starting off 2-0 is great but the Flyers are already facing a little adversity as Sean Couturier will now be out for a few weeks. Coots was injured in Friday nights game against the Pens after taking a hit in the shoulder area. Tonight the Flyers will look to adjust to life without Coots as the Buffalo Sabres come in to town. Tonight is game one of a back to back in the first of 8 back to back situations for the Flyers. The Flyers come in at 2-0 while Buffalo dropped their first two games of the season to the Washington Capitals.

Buffalo has added a few new pieces but none bigger than left winger Taylor Hall. The former MVP has joined Jack Eichel and Tage Thompson on the Sabres top line and they have already had some nice chemistry. Hall scored his first goal as a member of the Sabres in the first game of the season and added two assist in the two games. He is currently co-leads the team with three points along with Eichel. Yes, they may be 0-2 but this team is better than most people think. The Flyers will need to be on top of their game in order to take care of business in this back to back situation.

Start Time: 7:30pm on NBCSN/NBC Sports Philadelphia

Location: Wells Fargo Center

Last Season Series: Last season these two teams met three times with the Flyers sweeping the season series. The first meeting in December was a game dominated by the Flyers as they would take home a 6-1 win. They wouldn’t meet again until February where once again the Flyers would handle the Sabres fairly easily in a 5-2 win. The final meeting would come on March 7th which would be the 9th straight win for the Flyers after a 3-1 lead it was the last win of their winning streak and the second to last game of their season due to the COVID shutdown. Let’s see if the Flyers will be able to continue to have that kind of success this season against the new and improved Buffalo Sabres.
