NCAA Granting 5th Year Of College Football Eligibility

The NCAA just dropped somewhat of a bombshell today… Granting 5th year of College Football Eligibility.

So players now have until March 1 to decide if they now want to use this 5th year and return back to college and not head to the 2021 NFL Draft.

So basically if a player opted out of 2020 season due to COVID the year is still counted toward their eligibility years.

Very interesting clause here… If a player opts to head back to college but was drafted, the team who drafted said player will be able to retain their rights.

The draft is going to be very interesting this year with lack of film on a lot of players, players who opted out and limited pro days.  I am very interested to see how the combine is run this year as well.

What a time to be alive… And a college/soon to be NFL player.
