Atlanta Falcons Long Time QB Matt Retiring. Owner Arthur Blank Confirms.

Long time Atlanta Falcons QB is retiring.

Matt Schaub has been the backup to starting QB Matt Ryan.  Matt…. Schaub, the backup is retiring.

Matt Ryan’s status is still up in the air moving forward as well.  We he be the starter for the Falcons next year?  Will the team try and trade or release him?  Will the team draft a QB like Justin Fields high and have him learn behind Matt Ryan?  Only time will tell.

But for now ONE of the two Matt’s in the QB room is leaving the Falcons and moving on from football.

I know.. I know.. “clickbait” but nothing in the title was a lie!  And, Matt Schaub was a good starter one.

Schaub played in 155 games, threw from 25,467 yards and 136 touchdowns with the Falcons, Texans, Raiders, Ravens and then finishing his career back with the Falcons from 2016-2020.

Enjoy retirement Matt!
