Not a great way to start your Tuesday morning if you’re a Blackhawks fan…Star center and Captain of the franchise Jonathan Toews will be out for training camp and will miss the start of the season.
Tough blow for the Hawks as not only did they already lose Kirby Dach due to his injury at the World Juniors but now this.
A lot now falls on the shoulders of Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat to lead the way for the offense of the Blackhawks. With a short season getting off to a bad start is not ideal.
Toews released a statement a little bit ago to give an update on his condition. Hopefully it is nothing too serious and he is able to make a speedy recovery. For now though his status for the season remains uncertain and he could miss the whole year. Obviously his health comes first and we wish Toews all the best and look forward to seeing him back on the ice as soon as possible!
