It’s happening people!!!!!! Hockey is that much closer to coming back and I am really trying not to freak out as I type this but OH MY GOD LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing is finalized yet, but we are moving closer and closer to the details being ironed out for the puck to drop on January 13th. According to Darren Dreger the agreement that was put in place back in July is going to be honored and the proposal of the players to defer more of their salary was a separate issue. This means that we have the CBA in place and now the only things that have to get figured out are training camp dates, COVID protocols, realignment for this season, and a few other minor things.
Dreger also reported that it is expected the Board of Governors will approve the return to play proposal once everything is finalized and then we can get this thing rolling. It looks like we will be getting a 56 game season with four re-aligned division which will more than likely include an all Canadian division but thats not confirmed yet.
Not gonna lie I was starting to get a little nervous this thing might not happen but I feel much better now and can’t not wait for the season to start. I don’t care what the divisions look like and I know there will probably be some postponements and some big guys that might miss time due to COVID but man it’ll be great to see hockey back on TV. Hopefully the protocols that are put in place keep the players safe and we can get through this season with minimal issues.
