The Flyers drafted a player 135th overall in the draft, and I cannot pronounce his last name, but I can spell it. Elliot Desnoyers scores four goals to carry the Halifax Moose over the Charalottetown Islanders in a 5-4 victory.
Elliot was taken in the 5th round 135th overall by the Flyers in the 2020 draft and so far with some recent biases, is looking like a gem. Elliot is incredible as he is not afraid to mix it up in front of the net, and gets some major help from Avalanche draft pick and Moosehead Captain Justin Barron.
The Moooseheads have been a favorite of mine in the Q ever since the MacKinnon days. In his first seson with the Mooseheads, Desnoyers has scored 11 goals and 7 assists in 11 games for 17 points. For example, last season for Moncton needed 61 games to hit 11 goals. This comes just two weeks after he scored 4 goals against the Cape Brenton Screaming Eagles.
He is now second overall in scoring in the QMJHL.
Here are his highlights from last night.
Desnoyers has seemed to find his offensive game with the stacked Mooseheads, and I am very excited to see him take up his game even farther.
