It was literally just reported that Evgenii Dadonov has signed with Panthers divisional rival, the Ottawa Senators. He has signed a three-year deal with $5 million cap hit per season.
He was drafted by The Panthers in 2007 71st overall. He floated between the AHL and NHL, playing for multiple Panthers farm teams. In 2012-2013 he jumped overseas to the KHL and player three seasons for KHL juggernaut SKA Saint Petersburg. Putting up 72 goals and 86 assists in 165 regular season games. Along with 48 points in 55 Gagarin Cup playoff games. He won two Gagarin Cups in 2015 and 2017. An extremely successful career thus far.
He has played in 280 NHL games thus far and has scored 91 goals and 111 assists in that time. He is a solid Top 6 player and will have plenty of opportunity to show it with the Sens.
He is another player that I would have liked the Flyers to add, but money and position is just too deep.
Ottawa is starting to put together something pretty good up there, time will tell. The Panthers and Sens are getting quite the history together.
