It’s a clip from the podcast Missin Curfew from former NHL players Jimmy Hayes and Scottie Upshall where they are discussing a possible trade between the Philadelphia Flyers and Calgary Flames.
It’s a very interesting take in my opinion and honestly I don’t love it. It basically has us giving up Voracek, Ghost, and probably a prospect/pick for Gaudreau and something else.
I love Johnny Hockey and I really do think he’d be a solid fit for our team. But, I think giving up Jake, Ghost and more is overpaying for him and I don’t like that.
I’m perfectly fine with the Flyers trading Ghost and I expect it to happen in the near future. When it comes to Voracek yes, at times he is a frustrating player and we would all love for him to shoot more. Watching him in the playoffs though he was the Flyers best player and while he may not be as consistent as we all would like him to be I think he is still an important piece to this team.
Another thing is I’d much rather have Jake and Johnny Hockey playing together rather than being traded for each other. So if the Flyers want to trade for Gaudreau I’m in, just not if it involves Voracek.
I still think the better move is to make the trade for Laine but that’s just my opinion. It’s going to be a rumor filled next couple of weeks around the NHL so stay tuned for what’s to come.
