Tampa Bay Lightning Win The Stanley Cup

The Tampa Bay Lightning are your 2020 NHL Stanley Cup Champions! After a grueling series with the Dallas Stars it took them 6 games to put an end to it. With the 2-0 win the NHL bubble has come to an end and the 2020 season that started nearly a year ago is finally complete.

Props to Tampa as they got swept last year and were the clear favorite for most of this year and during these bubble playoffs they proved just how good they are. This is their second Stanley Cup in team history with their last one coming in 2004 right before the locked out season.

Brayden Point and Blake Coleman provided the two goals for the Lightning. Dallas put up a hell of a fight but in the end the Lightning were just too talented and Dallas wasn’t able to force a game 7.

Brayden Point was the star of the playoffs for the Lightning the entire way as he had 14 goals and 19 assist for 32 points. Crazy numbers regardless of the circumstances surrounding these playoffs. Here’s a look at his goal that would end up being the game winner.

Victor Hedman won the Conn Smythe as the Playoff MVP. Personally I think it should have been Point but they don’t let me get a vote.

Looking back on this season during these crazy times the fact the NHL was able to pull off this bubble and crown a champion is incredible. Props to the NHL for pulling this off and keeping the players and all the staff members safe as well. We don’t know what the future holds for the NHL but I can’t wait for next season.

Congrats the the Lightning and props to the Stars for putting up one hell of a fight and giving us a very entertaining series.
