Seems like we’ve got a new weekly segment here at Branded. The Eagles stat of the week that will completely ruin your Monday morning. This week we’ve got a Carson Wentz featured stat from our good friend Paul Hembekides
Wow, not sure what else to say there. 20 off target throws and 15 with a clean pocket. I’m not ready to say Carson is just average or even below average but man. This is getting harder and harder to defend each and every week.
He over threw a number of key plays yesterday and the interception in the endzone only down 5 felt like a back breaker at the time.
Do I think it’s time to pull Carson? No. That seems like an overreaction but it is time to tell him, fix this, this and this or we have to give Jalen a shot.
Some of what is happening with Wentz was due to a bad line but now he’s just seeing ghosts. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt because Doug is also performing terribly so far this year. But he just has to be better. He needs to do what he was doing last year with no weapons. Willing the Eagles to victory in games with practice squad players. Now that he’s been given guys that can play around him, he’s got to show up.
A game this week they need and if Carson gets out performed by the rookie Burrow. I’m not sure how you let hi start week 4. God help and as always
