Alright folks, im back after a quick labor day hiatus from the fight game. Tonights card takes place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas and is headlined by a Women’s Strawweight bout featuring the Karate Hottie #8 Michelle Waterson (+105) vs #13 Angela Hill (-125).
Some historical significance will be taking place tonight as Angela Hill will become the first Black American women who have headlined a UFC event, truly spectacular to see this happen and so so well deserving. She has had 12 fights since 2017 and this will be her 4th fight of 2020. That is some straight up SAVAGERY that not many in the UFC can say they’ve done.
Hill’s skill set has caught up to the best in the division, Waterson is an underrated grappler and a tricky opponent on the feet, one who can be difficult to find with strikes. This could prove to be a stylistic challenge for Hill, Waterson has the ability to end her night with a submission. But I really like Hill’s momentum going into this one, she got absolutely robbed in her last night against Claudia Gadelha.
Other names to look out for tonight include Khama Worthy (-130), my guy and fellow Bostonian Mike Rodriguez (-240), Billy Quarantillo (-250) and my girl Sijara Eubanks on the prelim card at (+250).
Overall, this is a decent card, but kind of underwhelming. BUT, the next 2 weekends after this are a couple of INSANE cards with Covington vs Woodley and Adesanya vs Costa for the world title.
