BREAKING: Landeskog Out For Game Seven

Intern Mitch

Well shit, this is not wanted to see at 3:50 in the after noon before a 4:00 PM puck drop. The Avalanche will be fighting for their seasons against the Stars and they will have to do it without their captain, Gabriel Landeskog.

Landy had his leg sliced open by Cale Makar in the 2nd period of game 6 and was unable to finish the game, despite being on the bench. I think that boost in moral really helped the Avs get over the stars on Wednesday. Landeskog isn’t a prolific goal scorer like Mikko and Nat, but he is the perfect third for a three headed monster.

The Avalanche are fighting a mountain of injuries right now: Calvert, Johnson, Timmons, and both their starting and backup goalie. It really has been next man up for the Avalanche this postseason, with third string goalie Michael Hutchinson, with AHL Eagles fan favorite, Hunter Miska, backing him up. Hutch really may turn into a playoff hero here today.

Don’t count out the Avalanche yet. Its anyone’s series, and I was really hoping to see Bowen Byram once.
