Last night, Rhys Hoskins became the first phillie in the modern era (since 1900) to have 3 straight games with multiple extra base hits and a home run and is the ONLY player in the MLB to do so this season. Some absolute stud muffin stuff right here.
Standing at 6’4 225 lbs, Hoskins started the season off slow, but has since been absolutely killing it the past few games, something the Phillies have DESPERATELY needed.
The Phillies are 15-15 with 30 games to play in the sprint season. They are still on track to reach Bryce Harper’s goal of nine wins in 10 games. He went on record as saying that’s what the team needed to turn things around after the Phils lost a fifth game in a row August 22 in Atlanta.
With the races heating up, the Phillies will need all hands on deck. They are in a WIDE OPEN NL East division at the moment, but I can see the Braves pulling away fast. They will need somebody like Rhys Hoskins to keep the hot bat for an extended period of time if they want to have a taste of playoff baseball.
