TMZ Sports came in with an Exclusive report this afternoon announcing 2 MAJOR fights set to headline the UFC 256 PPV in December and the UFC 257 PPV in January.
Kamaru Usman will defend his Welterweight Championship against top contender Gilbert Burns in a fight that was suppose to take place in July but was canceled the week of due to Burns catching COVID-19. Insert Jorge Masvidal, whom was defeated by Usman on just a few days notice.
The second MAJOR bout set to headline the January PPV event will be a rematch between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz.
Now this is not finalized, but it is being discussed. It won’t be on the same card as Usman-Burns at UFC 256, which is what TMZ Sports reported today. They wouldn’t want to be co headline for a PPV, so Im assuming that’s the reasoning behind it.
The UFC 256 PPV is also set to have the GOAT Amanda Nunes defending her Bantamweight title against top contender Megan Anderson.
Overall, this is some VERY exciting news for fight fans around the world. 2 MAJOR fights people have been wanting to see, the Diaz Masvidal rematch is something I think will be down the middle in terms of reception, but they both deserve to run it back and take a fat check to the bank.
I mean how could we FORGET how fucking awesome the hype train was for Masvidal-Diaz at MSG last year.
ITS A GREAT TIME TO BE A FIGHT FAN! WOOO!
