Trouble. In. Paradise.
Jimmy Butler lead the Heat to a Game 1 win over the Bucks and JoJo was glued to the TV. I mean you have to feel bad for Joel and Ben but after the Sixers got swept by the Celtics my heart goes out to the big guy. Jimmy said it was either him or the coach, you traded him to the Heat for poor mans Jimmy Butler and then the next year you fire that coach. That would leave a bad taste in my mouth too.
At some point you start to feel bad for Philadelphia. Top to bottom it feels like their executives have absolutely no idea what they’re doing. If you trade a stud in Butler because he wanted the coach gone you better be damn sure that this is the coach who will take you to the promise land. Clearly, that wasn’t the case.
I’m not going to beat a dead horse, there is a lot of issues with this team at every level. You have to think if Elton Brand was willing to put his nuts on the line and make an impact immediately then the Sixers would have 3 stars still and would be going into year 2 of their new coach. A potentially scary team absolutely squandered.
I think Joel gives this team one year of ineptitude before he asks for a Trade. The city of Philly might burn on that day.
