I’m Sorry But WHAT Is This Bikini Picture Of Adele?

Adele hasn’t released an album since 2015, so it’s almost like any IG drop is a big deal at this point. Especially since Adele revealed her fairly drastic new look, it seems like any photo she posts is an excuse for people to fawn over how great she looks now that she’s thin even though she has always been stunningly gorgeous.

That being said: what in the actual fuck is going on in this photo?

I don’t mean literally-I understand what Carnival is, and I don’t think Adele is trying to be culturally insensitive, but I’m just not sure it’s her best look.

When Adele rose to stardom with her first smash hit album aptly titled 19, she was literally 19. I’m not going to judge anyone off who they were or how they looked at 19, but over the years this is the Adele we grew up with, who we looked to through blurred out teardrops while we mourned the loss of a boyfriend who cheated on us with a part time grocery store cashier….anyone else?

So while there’s nothing inherently wrong with Adele posting this new image to her Instagram, I feel like I don’t even know her anymore. Like she might open up her new album with a “old Adele can’t come to the phone anymore….because she’s dead!” and go right into a collab with Diplo.

You always know you’re going to get a high pony and knee highs with Ariana, black eyeliner and a peasant crop top with Britney, and with Katy Perry and Lady Gaga you know you’ll never know what you’re going to get. I thought Adele had a strong enough Adele brand until I saw this.

Going through a $150 million dollar divorce in the middle of making an album can go one of two ways. Old Adele would have made a power ballad that tbh might be too intense for what the world is going through at the moment. Is new Adele going to have Addison Rae do choreography?
