Ohhhh baby what a day of puck am I right people?!? We had an overtime thriller, a blowout and a west coast showdown. Walsh here to provide you with another Stanley Cupdate in case you missed any of the action.

Let’s start with when the games started as we kicked off the afternoon with game 2 between my Flyers and the New York Islanders. The boys in orange and black were BUZZIN in the first period! Kevin Hayes single handedly was dominate in the first 20 and he had two goals himself. Future Selke winner Sean Couturier add another goal and the Flyers had a 3-0 lead going into period two…Things started to change in this period though. The Islanders started to get their legs and they were pushing. They would get one back and we headed to the third with a 3-1 score. I would’ve thought that would’ve been the kick in the ass the Flyers needed but I was wrong. The Islanders dominated the third period almost like they did in the first period of game one. They got the score to 3-2 and it stayed that way until a little over three minutes left. The Flyers would turn the puck over and Pageau would benefit as he would be all alone in front and put the tying goal past Carter Hart…Here’s the thing though, the start of the possession was offsides. There’s no fucking question about it and the Flyers challenged and should’ve won the challenge but the refs had to have looked at the wrong play. I mean it was clear as day they were offsides but instead we headed to overtime. THANK FUCKING GOD FOR PHIL “THE THRILL” MYERS! He took a shot that gets deflected and bang! Flyers take game 2 by a 4-3 final. No time to celebrate though as game 3 is tonight at 7pm on NBCSN.

The second game in the East saw the 2nd of of back to back games between the Lightning and the Bruins. Man this one was UGLY for the not so Big Bad Bruins. They got their shit rocked in game three as the Lightning put up a touchdown in goals while Boston could only get one past Vasilesky. The highlights of this game was all the physicality we saw as theses two teams do not like each other one bit and you love to see it. This game was over before the third period started and now Tampa takes the series lead. Game 4 is Friday at 7:30pm on USA.

The final game of the night was the Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars in game 3. Colorado was trying to avoid going down 3-0 and Dallas looked to take a commanding lead. Dallas got off to a good start as they took a 1-0 lead but it would be the Avs who would put up three straight goals and have a 3-1 lead going into the third. Dallas would storm back and put up three straight goals of their own to take a 4-3 lead with under 10 minutes to go. This third period was wild. The Avs would come back to tie it and then put up two more goals to take home the 6-4 win capping off a SIX goal third period. Absolute bananalands of a period and we have ourselves a series now. Game 4 is Friday at 10:00pm on NBCSN.
