Alright folks we got another card coming at you Saturday night with a HUGE Bantamweight main event as #5 Pedro Munhoz takes on future hall of famer #8 Frankie Edgar making his bantamweight debut.
This is a huge fight for both men. If Frankie Edgar can’t win tonight then say goodbye to any future last chance world title opportunities for him as this division and every division this man has fought it is absolutely loaded top to bottom in the rankings.
Frankie is getting older, and he’s cutting to this weight for the very first time, who knows how that’s going to go? It could 2 very different ways. A lot of times, you see guys go down like this at the end of their career, and it usually doesn’t help them. I think Pedro Munhoz really has nothing to lose. All of the pressure here heading into this fight is all going to be on Frankie Edgar. Big name, former world champ, trying to get a title shot one last time potentially. And usually when that’s the case, the guy who has nothing to lose does a little bit better.
I believe Pedro Munhoz knocking out Cody Garbrandt last year and then having a good showing in a loss to top contender Aljamain Sterling earlier this year sets him up for a huge win here and i think he’ll get the finish inside of 2 rounds. Munhoz by TKO in the 2nd round.
Other names to look out for are Ovince St Preux in the co main and Dwight Grant leading off the main card. After last weekend massive heavyweight title fight, i think this card is a little more slow, but thats expected.
This main event however is huge, and is free on ESPN. Tune in and support these world class athletes!
