Fight Night Baby! What To Expect From Woodley vs Burns

We are back in Las Vegas, Nevada tonight for an ESPN card featuring a Welterweight main event with former champ #1 Tyron Woodley taking on up and coming stud Brazilian #6 Gilbert Burns. The rest of the card to be honest is pretty underwhelming for the casual and non fight fans. BUT, this main event is pretty dam epic.

Tyron Woodley, the former Welterweight champ and one of the greatest welterweights of all time is coming off losing his title over a year ago in March 2019. During this hiatus, Woodley has been rumored/scheduled to fight names from Colby Covington, Robbie Lawler and Leon Edwards. Ultimately  couple injuries canceled the Lawler bout and here we are with Woodley taking on up and coming Jiu Jitsu specialist Gilbert Burns whom is riding a 5 fight win streak into this bout.

Now in terms of how this fight plays out, I believe Woodley will win by KO/TKO by the end of the 3rd round. Woodley is very very explosive and powerful. I think he’s got the longer reach, and I think his striking is better than Burns’. So, I think you’re gonna see a knockout from Woodley, for sure. While Burns has the clear upperhand in Jiu Jitsu, that doesn’t necessarily mean he will get that chance, as Woodley’s wrestling game is high level and will be extremely difficult to get the large 170 pounder to the ground.

All in a all, this will be a great fight. I wouldn’t be surprised if Burns pulls off the upset, but Woodley is coming into this fight pissed off, feels like people have forgot about him and is going into the octagon tonight looking to finish. I believe he will do just that. Another fighter to look out for tonight is prospect Mackenzie Dern opening up the main card on ESPN.

SUPER pumped for this main event, sit down crack a cold one and relax and watch these 2 masters duke it out, I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Everybody love everybody, life is too short. The world is a beautiful place man.

Mac out.
