Jadeveon Clowney is once again sticking to his guns and declined Cleveland’s recent offer. According to ESPNs Adam Schefter the Cleveland Browns made an “aggressive” offer and Clowney turned it down immediately. Schefter also mentions that this was by far Clowney’s best offer but it seems he thinks he is worth much more than the NFL GM’s do. Schefter made it seem as if Clowney has no interest in playing for the Browns and is waiting for another suitor swoops in to make an offer.
In my opinion Clowney is just digging himself a deeper hole. I understand not wanting to play for a team, but you’re losing millions in the process. Clowney thinks he deserves to be paid top 3 DE money, but the reality is he’s not even close to a top 3 DE. His numbers were on pair with Brandon Graham’s last season and Graham is only due to make 13.3 million dollars this season. Clowney better start thinking smarter or he is just going to keep losing more money as the offseason continues. Truthfully I won’t be upset that CLOWNey loses money throughout this offseason after being a scum bucket and knocking Wentz out of the playoffs with that cheap shot. In the end we shall see how this all plays out for him.
