On this day 19 years ago, Allen Iverson, one of the most loved basketball players in the city of Philadelphia and even the NBA world won the MVP award. Iverson who averaged 31.1 points points per game, 5.5 assists per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, and 2.5 steals per game, was a man possessed that season.
A 25-year-old Allen Iverson stood 6-feet, 165 pounds when he received the MVP award on this day 2001.

The shortest and lightest MVP ever was raining buckets on the league. 🔥

Til this day AI remains the shortest and lightest player to ever win the MVP. 6’0 (which in my opinion is bologna) weighing 165 lbs soaking wet. He should not of been able to do what he did basketball wise at that size. The one thing that made it happen was HEART. No one in the NBA had more heart than that guy. It’s the reason us in Philly absolutely adored the man. He laid it out on the line every night on that basketball court. Basketball fans around the world will appreciate that from him for an enternity.
