The United Kingdom has giving the okay to the Premier League to continue their season. England’s top division has been suspended since March 13th. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson released a road map Sunday evening to help control lockdown restrictions. A full report with a total of 50 pages has been released which includes “permitting cultural and sporting events to take place behind closed-doors for broadcast, while avoiding the risk of large-scale social contact”. None of this can happen before the mandated June 1 start.
The title of the document is called “Our Plan to Rebuild: The UK Government’s COVID-19 Recovery Strategy,” and it states that restrictions will only ease once certain measures are met. There will be no spectators whatsoever in any case scenario unless the Coronavirus number rapidly decreases.
